The design is believed to be from "Le Dieu Bleu" from Ballets Russes. Signed in pencil, 'Bakst 1912' in the lower right corner. Paper has toning and foxing and measures 17" x 10 1/4." Clark Bronson: "Wahb" Original Signed Watercolor on Paper, laid on cardboard, ca. 1969. Paper has light toning from matting but is otherwise in excellent condition. Bronson is a highly-appreciated wildlife sculptor, particularly of Western and Northwestern American larger species such as those depicted here. This watercolor is the feature cover and two-page illustration (pages 46 & 47) in Ernest Thompson Seton's book The Biography Of A Grizzly, published by Rand McNally & Co., 1969 (A copy of the book will be included with the purchase of the painting). This piece is one of Bronson's final paintings before he permanently switched mediums into sculpting. Measures 22" x 28." - $4750
