Jean-Baptiste (James) Bertrand: Original sepia and chalk sketches (One page, front and back) on tan laid paper of ladies in medieval dress, ca. 1870. Pencil-signed in the lower left-hand corner of one side. This sheet has been removed from a sketch book and the hinge remains on one long edge; the paper is toned and foxed overall. There are some pin holes and a 1" tear into the image field on a short edge with old tape. The mount covers a large portion of a signature on one side in the lower bottom center. Sheet measures 11 7/8" x 9 1/2." - $200

 

Cheney: "Old Slater Mill, Pawtucket, R.I." Original Pen and Ink From Photo, ca. 1920's. Sheet Measures 14" x 17," Image Alone is 10 1/2" x 14." - $85

 

William Fisher: "Fraunce's Tavern Where Washington Said Goodbye To His Officers, Pearl & Broad St." Original Pen and Ink Wash on Strathmore Paper. Unsigned but pencil-titled and dated Feb. 21, 52 in the margins. Fisher was an illustrator for the "Villager" newspaper in New York City and started the William Fisher Art School in Kennebunkport, Maine. The paper has some toning and smudging but is in good condition overall. Sheet is 19" x 15." - $175

 

William Fisher: "A Quaint Garden Belonging To Mrs. Lawrence Pratt Backing on Grove Court With Iron Railing From The Old Brevoort, One Of The Lovely Landmarks Of Old New York Under Cloud Of Losing Everything For A Playground For P. S. No.3." Original Pen and Ink Wash on Strathmore Paper. Signed in plate and pencil-titled and dated Sept. 29, 55 in the margins. Fisher was an illustrator for the "Villager" newspaper in New York City and started the William Fisher Art School in Kennebunkport, Maine.
